Peter Wheeler (1934-2010) was an actor and broadcaster, perhaps best known as the voice of ‘What The Papers Say’ and ‘Crown Court’.
Peter’s first foray into the world of broadcasting was as a young actor on BBC Children’s Hour.
Over time, he worked in almost every area of broadcasting – from current affairs to comedy and quiz shows.
He was the first person to interview The Beatles on tv while working for Granada TV, and is said to have been an extremely versatile man and greatly loved recording short stories for BBC Radio 4.
