A family-run food and wine store has announced it will be moving to a new home.

Grantham’s deli, currently situated on Heyes Lane in Alderley Edge, will be moving to Alderley Park this spring.

Bosses said the retailer would remain focussed on its range of products from small, independent producers with products sourced from across the UK and Europe.

The new store will include a private dining and event space, and will be located at Apiary opposite Mereside at Alderley Park.

The new 3,500 square foot shop will have car parking outside, and will offer a new lunch menu as well as a click and collect service.

The store will include a cheese and charcuterie counter, a wine section and artisan bread as well as fruit and vegetables plus a range of olive oils and pastas.

It will also continue to stock everyday essentials such as milk, bread, eggs and yoghurts.

First established in 1947 by Percy Grantham, who wanted to share his love of Italian food with his local community in Alderley Edge, the business has built a strong reputation and loyal following.

Documents dating back to the early 1900s will also be showcased throughout the new shop, telling the story of the family firm throughout the generations.

“We’re thrilled to be welcoming such a well-loved local and independent name to Alderley Park,” said Charlotte Wild, head of retail and leisure.

“Grantham’s has built a reputation for traditional charm and high quality produce and we know it will be a huge hit with our community.”

The new shop will join existing amenities at Alderley Park including a pub and a leisure centre as well as residential accommodation and more than 250 businesses on-site.

Rachel Grantham, of Grantham’s, said: “We’re proud to have been bringing quality produce to the local community since the 1940s.

“Whilst we’ve evolved our offering a lot in that time, our values and traditions have remained the same.

“Customers can expect the same Italian-style deli, traditional groceries and warm service that we pride ourselves on at our new home at Alderley Park.

“We’re very excited to be able to develop and expand areas of the business with the move, especially our on-site private dining experience, which we can’t wait to unveil soon.”
