Castle Artisan Events unveils fresh new brand identity

An award-winning artisan market events firm has unveiled a revamped brand identity as bosses aim to continue the growth of the business.

Castle Artisan Events – which operates artisan markets across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire – aims to champion independent makers and breathe new life into local high streets.

It began with a single monthly market in Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire six years ago and now features a roster of six artisan market events.

“Our markets have grown massively over the last few years, and so has our community,” said Jake Burgess, co-founder of Castle Events.

“The refresh is about better reflecting who we are today — proud of our roots, passionate about local creatives, and excited about what’s next.”

True to its ethos of supporting independent businesses, it was one of the firm’s own regular traders who was commissioned to undertake the rebrand – Dave James, of Number Fifteen Design.

Castle Artisan Events has supported hundreds of independent artisan traders, providing regular opportunities for makers, bakers and creatives to showcase their work in prominent town centre locations.

The firm has also helped increase footfall, encouraging visitors to explore beyond the market stalls and shop with independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

The firm was recognised at the Staffordshire Business Awards 2024, winning the high street impact award, while co-founder Jake Burgess was named young business person of the year.

The flagship event remains the Castle Artisan Market in Newcastle-under-Lyme but other markets include the monthly Nantwich Artisan Market in Cheshire and Market Drayton Artisan Market in Shropshire.

In Stoke-on-Trent, the firm runs the Potteries Artisan Market in Hanley, delivered in collaboration with Stoke-on-Trent BID.

It is also behind the Middleport Artisan Market at Middleport Pottery in partnership with Re-Form Heritage and the World of Wedgwood Artisan Market in Barlaston.

Each market would retain its own unique personality, bosses said, while the new branding would bring them together under a shared branding.

The next Castle Artisan Market returns to The Stones in Newcastle-under-Lyme on Sunday 15th February 2026.
