The Trentham Estate has revealed more acts heading to Staffordshire this summer as part of Trentham Live 2023.
Organisers have extended this year’s programme, and have confirmed that the event will now span five days rather than the usual four.
This means five shows hosted in the unique outdoor setting of The Trentham Estate near Stoke-on-Trent.
The venue will see Kaiser Chiefs and Razorlight take to the stage on Saturday 19th August, with Olly Murs and Natalie Imbruglia taking to the stage on Sunday 20th August.
In addition, bosses have just announced headline and support acts for Thursday 17th and Friday 18th August.
Thursday will see Feeder as the headline act, supported by singer-songwriter Jake Bugg and pop-rock band The Feeling.
Friday will see Chase & Status as the headline act, supported by drum and bass legends Sigma and electronic dance music producer Luude.
Later this month bosses will reveal who will be performing on Wednesday 16th August.
Kerrie Pope, head of events at The Trentham Estate, said: “Following on from last year’s successful event, we are really excited about 2023!
“It’s an incredible line up and we know that people will really enjoy an exciting weekend of live music, fun and feasting in our unique historic setting.
“There’s an electric atmosphere at Trentham Live and it’s amazing to see the festival get bigger and bigger each year as friends and families come together to party.”
Feeder (headline act) Thursday 17th August 2023
Since launching out of South Wales in 1992, Feeder have maintained an enviable forward motion, releasing 10 studio albums and over 40 EPs or singles – accumulating 26 top 40 chart singles, spending 185 weeks in the UK charts and shifting well over two million albums in the UK alone.
One of the few flat-out rock bands still firing in the face of a predominantly synth-pop world, they secured new heights of popularity around the world with 2017’s Best Of.
After following up two years later with their tenth album Tallullah, which garnered another British top five, the sky is the limit for these indestructible sensations.
Jake Bugg (support act) Thursday 17th August 2023
It may be his fifth album, but Saturday Night, Sunday Morning marks the start of chapter two for Jake Bugg.
Arguably his most complete and coherent record to date, it manages to combine a love of ABBA, the Beach Boys, Supertramp and the Bee Gees with a contemporary pop sound.
“I knew what I was looking for this time around,” the 27-year-old said, “and I feel like I accomplished it.”
It’s almost 10 years since Bugg burst onto the scene with his eponymous debut, one that topped the UK album charts and saw the then-18-year-old from Nottingham feted as the next Bob Dylan.
The Feeling (support act) Thursday 17th August 2023
The Feeling are a pop-rock quintet adored for their infectious, life-affirming music.
Formed in 1995, they adopted their moniker from a small bar in Paris which they liked, and thought was better suited as a band name.
Except for frontman and principal songwriter Dan Gillespie Sells (who comes from London) all of the five-piece’s members – bassist Richard Jones, drummer Paul Stewart, guitarist Kevin Jeremiah and his brother keyboardist Ciaran Jeremiah – hail from Horsham in Sussex.
Their guitar-based soft rock sound has been compared to a range of acts including Supertramp, 10cc, Electric Light Orchestra, Queen and Elton John.
Their hits include: Fill My Little World, Never Be Lonely, Sewn, Love It When You Call and Rose.
Chase & Status (headline act) Friday 18th August 2023
As one of the most successful British bands of the last decade, Chase & Status have achieved widespread notoriety and universal respect.
Will Kennard and Saul Milton are contemporary vanguards of UK electronic music.
Together they’ve channelled their deep-rooted passion for rave culture into six best-selling albums, an incendiary live show and a wide range of projects that have established them as an iconic outfit.
In 2022, Chase & Status released their sixth studio album which charted at number four in the official UK album chart.
When they first appeared in 2003 they excelled in underground drum and bass, and three years later they entered the mainstream with chart successes including their top five hit Blind Faith (with Liam Bailey) and End Credits (featuring Plan B).
They were also nominated in the Best Band category at the Brit awards, and picked up the gong for Best Video (for End Credits) at the Q Awards and NME Awards.
Sigma (support act) Friday 18th August 2023
Sigma are one of the biggest drum and bass artists in the world, amassing over seven million global sales – including hit singles Nobody To Love, Changing and Find Me.
With two UK number ones under their belt, and countless main stage festival performances around the globe, Sigma have firmly cemented their place as pioneers of drum and bass and crossed into the mainstream.
Spreading out from drum and bass to house and pure pop, they proved that they could work with vocalists of all stripes – and that their DJ sets could work on the biggest stages for the most diverse crowds.
In 2022, Sigma released new album Hope and are now returning to their roots for a summer of drum and bass sets across Europe.
LUUDE (support act) Friday 18th August 2023
Tasmanian-born, Perth-raised, Gold Coast-based artist Christian Benson (aka LUUDE) has quickly risen to the forefront of a new wave of producers coming out of Australia.
After bursting onto the scene in 2017 with a series of remixes and original tracks that amassed millions of streams LUUDE quickly took hold of the local club circuit, becoming an in-demand name for promoters.
The hype quickly escalated into sold-out tours across Australia and New Zealand, and festival sets on some of the biggest stages.
LUUDE landed a global hit with Down Under (featuring Colin Hay) as a bass-heavy take on the Men At Work classic from the 80s.
It rocketed up the charts in multiple countries and positioned LUUDE as one of the next global superstars in dance music.
LUUDE is also recognised as one half of the well-respected Australian duo Choomba, who have been endorsed by tastemakers such as The Magician, Claude Von Stroke, Richie Hawtin, Claptone, Riva Starr and Erick Morillo.
The duo host their own dance music radio show on Triple J (Australia’s biggest youth-focused station).
The Trentham Estate
The Trentham Estate offers one of the UK’s most diverse days out, with a range of activities for all ages.
It’s one of the country’s top leisure destinations, attracting more than 3 million visitors per year.
In 2021, Trentham won an iTravel award for Green Space of the Year in recognition of the natural refuge it provided during the pandemic.
Trentham Gardens, at the heart of the estate, brought in over 800,000 paid visits in 2019 which means it ranks among the most-visited gardens in the UK.
The 725-acre site is currently owned and managed by St Modwen, but was previously owned by the Dukes of Sutherland for more than 400 years.
It has been undergoing a massive regeneration programme since 2003, and is considered to be a conservation and biodiversity hotspot.
Trentham Monkey Forest is home to 140 free-roaming Barbary macaques, and the site also boasts extensive woodlands which are recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).
In addition, the wider estate provides grazing for a variety of rare breeds as well as wild black fallow deer.
Trentham’s famous Italianate Gardens were designed by Charles Barry in the 1830s, and have been lovingly restored by top landscape designers.
There’s also an idyllic walk which covers a circuit around the mile-long lake, originally laid out by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown in the 18th century.
Brown was employed at Trentham from 1759 to 1780 and created the mile-long lake as well as the surrounding parkland.
The site is also home to Trentham Garden Centre and Trentham Shopping Village, which contains an eclectic mix of shops and eateries as well as a 119-bedroom hotel.
