Final acts announced for Trentham Live 2023

Bosses at the Trentham Estate have announced the final acts to complete the line-up for this year’s Trentham Live concerts.

Following the surprise announcement earlier this month that Trentham Live 2023 has been extended to five days, bosses have revealed that McFly and The Hoosiers will be performing on Wednesday 16th August 2023.

The venue will see Kaiser Chiefs and Razorlight take to the stage on Saturday 19th August, with Olly Murs and Natalie Imbruglia taking to the stage on Sunday 20th August.

Earlier this month bosses announced headline and support acts for Thursday 17th and Friday 18th August.

Thursday will see Feeder as the headline act, supported by singer-songwriter Jake Bugg and pop-rock band The Feeling.

Friday will see Chase & Status as the headline act, supported by drum and bass legends Sigma and electronic dance music producer Luude.

A spokesperson said: “Due to overwhelming demand we are thrilled to announce that Trentham Live’s fifth and final headliner for 2023 is McFly!

“The band will be taking to the stage on Wednesday 16th August 2023 with special guests The Hoosiers, kicking off a music concert extravaganza week at Trentham Estate.”

They added: “Get ready to feel wild and young as Tom, Danny, Harry and Dougie join us once again down by the lake in the historic gardens, for what could be Trentham’s first residency!

“Thousands of local fans have demanded their return, and we wouldn’t want to disappoint. It is all about you after all…”

A spokesperson for headliners McFly added: “Following on from another fantastic night at Trentham last year, we are delighted to be the first headline act for the additional night for Trentham Live 2023 on Wednesday 16th August this year where a bonus date has been added.

“To follow in the footsteps with musical greats such as The Rolling Stones and The Beatles who have played at Trentham in the past, we’re in very good company and can’t wait to see our fans there again this year.”

McFly (headline act) Wednesday 16th August 2023

With seven UK number-one singles, six top-ten albums, seven arena tours and 10 million records sold worldwide, McFly are without question one of the most significant British pop acts of the 21st century.

Since hitting the big time as the youngest band ever to have a debut album go straight to number one – beating The Beatles’ long-standing record – they have become one of the UK’s best-loved bands and major stars in their own right.

Outside of McFly Tom has become a bestselling children’s author; Danny a tv mainstay with his regular appearances as a coach on The Voice Kids; Dougie formed alternative-rock band INK and is a passionate environmental campaigner; and Strictly winner Harry is often seen presenting The One Show as well as starring in the hit dance series Rip It Up.

The Hoosiers (support act) Wednesday 16th August 2023

The multi-platinum success of The Hoosiers’ 2007 debut album The Trick to Life – and singles such as Worried About Ray and Goodbye Mr A – raised huge expectations for the follow-up.

The prophetically titled The Illusion of Safety was – all the band agree – a troubled project from the start.

The News From Nowhere, released in 2014, was an astonishing return to form however.

Shattering their previous run of an album every three to four years, 2015’s The Secret Service – only a year after their third album – revealed a band hitting their stride through a purple patch.

The Trentham Estate

The Trentham Estate offers one of the UK’s most diverse days out, with a range of activities for all ages.

It’s one of the country’s top leisure destinations, attracting more than 3 million visitors per year.

In 2021, Trentham won an iTravel award for Green Space of the Year in recognition of the natural refuge it provided during the pandemic.

Trentham Gardens, at the heart of the estate, brought in over 800,000 paid visits in 2019 which means it ranks among the most-visited gardens in the UK.

The 725-acre site is currently owned and managed by St Modwen, but was previously owned by the Dukes of Sutherland for more than 400 years.

It has been undergoing a massive regeneration programme since 2003, and is considered to be a conservation and biodiversity hotspot.

Trentham Monkey Forest is home to 140 free-roaming Barbary macaques, and the site also boasts extensive woodlands which are recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

In addition, the wider estate provides grazing for a variety of rare breeds as well as wild black fallow deer.

Trentham’s famous Italianate Gardens were designed by Charles Barry in the 1830s, and have been lovingly restored by top landscape designers.

There’s also an idyllic walk which covers a circuit around the mile-long lake, originally laid out by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown in the 18th century.

Brown was employed at Trentham from 1759 to 1780 and created the mile-long lake as well as the surrounding parkland.

The site is also home to Trentham Garden Centre and Trentham Shopping Village, which contains an eclectic mix of shops and eateries as well as a 119-bedroom hotel.
