Richard Ashcroft has announced one date as part of Forest Live 2023, the summer concert series presented by Forestry England.

Respected by his peers and adored by his fans, Richard Ashcroft has enjoyed an illustrious career as lead singer and songwriter of alt-rock band The Verve and as a highly acclaimed solo artist.

Music industry accolades include the prestigious Ivor Novello Awards: Songwriter of the Year (1998) and Outstanding Contribution to British Music (2019).

His latest recording, Acoustic Hymns Vol.1, is a salute to key tracks from his repertoire such as A Song For Lovers and Break The Night With Colour as well as Bitter Sweet Symphony, The Drugs Don’t Work and Lucky Man from The Verve’s seminal album Urban Hymns.

He was due to perform at CarFest North in 2022, but his set was pulled at the last minute.

A post on his Facebook page at the time stated: “Richard’s band and crew have been on site since early this morning but for various reasons totally beyond Richard’s control it is not possible to go ahead with the show.

“Richard was very much looking forward to performing this evening and is as very disappointed for everyone.”

Forest Live

Forest Live is a major outdoor music series that introduces forests to new audiences in unique, natural woodland arenas around the country.

Over 2 million people have attended a Forest Live gig over the last twenty-two years, enjoying great music and supporting the nation’s forests through ticket purchases.

Attending the concerts helps Forestry England run conservation projects and grow more trees.

Last year they planted nearly 7 million trees.

Forestry England

Forestry England manages and cares for the nation’s 1,500 woods and forests, shaping landscapes as England’s largest land manager.

They received a total of 363 million visits last year – and more than half the landscapes they manage are covered by a statutory designation – such as Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs), Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs) and National Parks – making them some of the most valuable habitats for nature.

Forestry England manages the biggest and most diverse area of land in England, with sites ranging from forest to heathland, mountains to moors and farmland to urban green space.

Richard Ashcroft dates

Sunday 18th June: Delamere Forest, near Northwich, Cheshire
