Wyvern House in Winsford has recently seen a major transformation to accommodate new partners in its new public services hub, and now residents can help decorate it by entering a photograph competition run by Cheshire West and Chester Council.
Cllr Louise Gittins, cabinet member for communities and wellbeing, said: “We would like to invite residents to take part in a photograph competition.
“The winning photographs will be those which best capture the photographers’ personal impression of the distinctive features of the town and show Winsford as a great place to live and work. They will be judged by a group of local people.”
The winner will receive a meal voucher for four people at Rangos Restaurant and will see their photograph take pride of place in Wyvern House.
How to enter the competition:
You can send your pictures of places, buildings or people – as long as whatever you photograph captures why Winsford is a great place to live and work.
Six photos will be chosen by the judging panel, to be hung on the walls in the public services hub on the ground floor of Wyvern House. Entries can be made in full colour or black and white.
Entries are encouraged from residents of all ages, but entrants under 16 must have written consent from their parent/ guardian.
All submissions showing people in a recognisable way must have the participant’s written consent and, if under 16, written consent from their parent/guardian.
You can enter via email by attaching your digital image in jpeg format and sending it to wyvernphotocomp@cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk.
The closing date for entries is 15th October. There is a maximum of one photo per person.
Cheshire West and Chester Council can only accept photographs in jpeg format, and only up to a maximum size of 10mb.
Please keep copies of your original files if they are bigger than this, as they may be needed later on if you are successful.
If you prefer, you can enter your prints by post.
Please write your name, address and a daytime and evening phone number on the back of each photo with a note of where it was taken. Again, there’s a maximum of one photograph per person.
