Groups campaigning for a ‘People’s Vote’ will be out on the streets of Macclesfield on Saturday (29th September) as part of a national day of action.
There will be more than 100 groups taking part across the UK, in the largest combined day of action so far for the cause.
Activists and supporters from the People’s Vote campaign will be campaigning in Macclesfield outside the town hall, where they will demand a right to a public vote on the final Brexit deal.
The People’s Vote National Day of Action follows on from the People’s Vote Summer of Action, which saw mass rallies take place in Bristol, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Cambridge and Cardiff.
There will also be a People’s Vote March for the Future in London on 20th October, which is expected to be the largest Brexit-related march so far.

Local organiser Mark Johnson (who stood as an independent candidate for Macclesfield constituency MP last year) said: “Voices from industry, academia, the NHS, Bank of England, trade unions are all united in warning of the damage a disastrous Brexit will bring to prosperity and public services.”
Mark added: “Whether you were a Leaver or a Remainer, none of the choices left on the table now are palatable – Kamikaze Brexit or being a ‘rule taker’ with no seat or influence at the top table.
Now is the time to make our voices heard and demand another People’s Vote on the way forward.”
The People’s Vote stall will be in Macclesfield outside the Town Hall from 9am until 5pm.
