School leaders have spoken of their pride in students who picked up their GCSE results at The Catholic High School Chester today.
There was a mixture of elation and relief at the Handbridge-based school as year 11 pupils collected their marks.
Over 140 students were amongst the thousands across the UK who took their exams in May and June – for the first time since 2019.
With home schooling and digital learning the only option for much of the past three years, school leaders said the results were amazing considering the barriers pupils had faced.
Headteacher Cathy McKeagney said: “To say we are proud of our students at The Catholic High School Chester would be an understatement.
“Not only have they achieved amazing results, they have navigated their way through the choppy waters of the last two years with dignity and grace.
“We want to wish them every success as they embark upon their promising futures.”
