The Piece Hall in Halifax is launching a new membership scheme.
Bosses says it’s a new way to support and engage with the unique heritage asset and have named it Club 1779.
Members of Club 1779 will get access to presales for a selection of gigs, shows and workshops – including Live at The Piece Hall.
There will also be invites to exclusive members’ events and previews, as well money off vouchers and special deals at The Piece Hall’s outlets.
Members will receive a specially designed tote bag, a bespoke badge, a free heritage tour and get an opportunity to ring The Piece Hall Bell.
The club’s name is based on the year the iconic building was first opened for the trading of pieces of woollen cloth, made in people’s homes as part of Yorkshire’s famous cottage industry.
It’s now an award winning heritage, culture, retail and community destination run by a charitable trust.

The Piece Hall Trust’s CEO Nicky Chance-Thompson said: “We know just how much The Piece Hall means to people and we want them to be able to have extra special connection to this precious building.
“As well as receiving a whole host of perks, privileges and special offers, Club 1779 members will be supporting the vital work we do here.
“The age of this beautiful building is part of its unique charm but that comes with a price tag; it costs around £13,000 per day to maintain and run the site.
“The team here work incredibly hard, with all profit made by the trust going straight back into the upkeep of The Piece Hall to make sure we can secure its future.
“Everyone who joins the club will be helping us to continue protecting and preserving it for generations to come, making sure it remains free to enter, and supporting our programme of diverse, affordable events and activities, many of which are completely free of charge to the public.”

The first Club 1779 memberships are available now priced £35 per year.
To celebrate the launch and to thank previous members for their loyalty, The Piece Hall will be giving away two pairs of Live at Lounge tickets for a Live at The Piece Hall gig this summer worth over £400.
One prize will go to a member of the existing membership scheme and one will go to a new member.
Anyone who’s joined on the closing date (30th April) will be entered into the draw which will take place on 1st May. Winners will be notified by the second week of May 2023.
Anyone with a previous Piece Hall membership will continue on their agreed terms and conditions until their renewal date when they will have the option to transfer to the new Club 1779 scheme.

The Piece Hall is a grade-I listed building, and is the only remaining Georgian cloth hall in the world.
It’s run by a charitable trust and welcomes more than 2 million visitors per year.
The Piece Hall first opened in 1779 for the trading of ‘pieces’ of hand-woven woollen cloth, but is now an award-winning, free-to-enter, contemporary leisure and arts destination with a treasure trove of high-quality independent shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.
Its 66,000sq ft open air courtyard – on a par with the great piazzas of Europe – plays host to a year-round programme of world class live music and cultural events alongside food, drink and craft markets and community festivals.
Last year’s Live at The Piece Hall summer gig season saw almost 60,000 people watch global superstars including Tom Jones, Paloma Faith, Nile Rodgers and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds take to the stage.
