Cheshire West and Chester Council is working with Frodsham town and parish councils to create the best possible floral displays in the town.
Earlier this month residents may have noticed existing planters have disappeared along routes into the town.
This is because the planters are being refurbished – their drainage is being improved and they will be filled with fresh soil.
The planters will then be repositioned ready for planting towards the end of May.
Locations have been agreed to get the best results – a small number of locations have been identified as being unsuitable for plants, and in some instances watering is considered to be impractical or dangerous, and these places will no longer be used.
Flowers to be planted include: citrus coloured Begonias, classic mixed and salmon-coloured Geraniums, cascading blue Lobelia, Fairy Queen Salvia and Verbena Bonariensis.
Cheshire West and Chester Council’s cabinet member for environment, Cllr Karen Shore commented: “I’m delighted we are working the town and parish councils to create some wonderful floral displays in Frodsham.
“It’s exciting that we will be working with the councils throughout the year to ensure these displays are well maintained and they could potentially be entered into the 2019 Britain in Bloom competition.”
