The final preparations are underway for a Cheshire theatre company’s Christmas-themed musical which opens next month.
The Zodiac Theatre company, based in Frodsham, will stage Elf The Musical at The Grange Theatre in Hartford from Wednesday 13th November 2024 until Saturday 16th November.
Some performances have already sold out, so producers are urging would-be theatre goers to book early to avoid disappointment.
The production is directed by Lou Steggals, with musical direction by Craig Price and choreography by Jessica Martin.
It arrives at The Grange Theatre ahead of a busy and exciting time for the venue, as theatre bosses prepare to stage their first in-house professional Christmas show – Peter Pan – later in the year.
Elf The Musical was first performed on Broadway in 2010, based on the award-winning 2003 Will Ferrell film which tells the heart-warming and hilarious tale of Buddy The Elf who leaves the North Pole to find his real father in New York.
Faced with the reality that his father is on Santa’s naughty list, and with a half-brother who doesn’t even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to spread cheer and win over his new family as well as helping New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.
Featuring a host of catchy songs by Matthew Skylar and Chad Begueling, performed alongside a 12-piece live band, the show is all about putting audiences in the Christmas spirit.
Leading the cast as Buddy the Elf is Tayler Spruce – who by day is a cabin crew training manager for a large airline.
The show’s director Lou Steggals said: “We’re delighted to bring this heartwarming and hilarious story to life on stage.
“Elf is more than just a holiday tale – it’s a celebration of family, friendship and the magic of believing.
“I’m so proud of our incredible cast and crew for bringing the spirit – and comedy – of Christmas so brilliantly to life.”
