Chester Zoo is launching an Easter egg hunt with a difference this year
There’ll be six giant 3D eggs hidden around the 128-acre zoo, each belonging to an animal you might not expect to come from an egg.
The ‘Really Wild Egg Trail’ will be available free of charge with a normal entry ticket (or membership) and runs from 1st-16th April 2023.
The educational adventure is aimed at youngsters – and once they’ve found all six eggs, they can head to the zoo’s gift shop to pick up a free Nat Geo kids magazine (worth £4.99).

Elinor Trigg, customer development manager at Chester Zoo, said: “This Easter you can expect something a little different at Chester Zoo.
“Visitors will explore a trail around the zoo, with a map specially designed by the team at National Geographic, which highlights where you can find six giant eggs belonging to animals that you might not expect to come from eggs.
“From the largest lizard in the world to tiny invertebrates, this educational adventure will help to shine a spotlight on our world-leading breeding programmes that are helping to save some of the most endangered animals on the planet, while connecting children to the natural world.”
“The trail is a wonderful way to learn more about some incredible, endangered species and, at the same time, take part some Easter egg fun.”
Chester Zoo is home to more than 27,000 animals and is a world-leading conservation and education charity.
