Cheshire West and Chester Council has confirmed that Chester Market will reopen on Thursday 13th April from 8am.
The market was closed temporarily following a serious incident last month which saw three people hospitalised.
The incident took place on Wednesday 29th March in one of the units adjoining Chester Market.
A council spokesperson said the delay in reopening the market was due to demolition works to a party wall and the erection of safety hoarding around the affected area.
The market has now been declared fully safe for the public to return.
Market traders have been informed about the activities in the building and have been back inside today (Tuesday 11th April) to start preparations for re-opening.
A council spokesperson said: “Chester Market has 28 exciting stalls, half of the stalls offer local produce (butcher, fishmonger, deli), gifts, plants and other essentials.
“The other half offer a superb range of food and drink; or just grab a coffee and enjoy the space. Please come along to support the Chester Market traders.”
