The power of partnership within our local community was seen in full force earlier this month as Northwich Art Shop hosted a Grand Day Out at Memorial Court.
Over 1,000 visitors went through the doors to enjoy live demonstrations, workshops, a pop-up art shop and expert advice from local artists.
The spectacle even turned into an international affair as Northwich Art Shop owner, and event organiser Phil Bower, explained: “We welcomed people from all over the world to the event including one couple on holiday in the area from Australia who had found an event flyer in their Airbnb.
“More locally we had visitors from Bolton, Blackpool, Colwyn Bay, Doncaster, Rhyl and Wrexham and it was great to see Mike Amesbury MP pop in too to see what was going on.
“I’m thrilled that there was so much interest in our event and made the hard work worthwhile.
“I’d also like to thank all exhibitors, sponsors and visitors who helped create a superb day.”
But Phil wasn’t only delighted with the numbers that headed over to the Memorial Court, he was also pleased that Grand Day Out visitors checked out other events taking place across the town too as part of the Northwich Festival of Arts.
“Many of our visitors spent some time in Northwich for lunch and either watched the brilliant Roberts Bakery Brass Band in the town centre or the Urban Dance Festival in Barons Quay,” explained Phil.
“People also commented on how much they enjoyed the High Street on a beautiful summer’s day and the great mix of independent shops and major national retailers.”
Phil’s attention has now turned to another artistic showcase which will take place in Middlewich in November with a seasonal twist in time for Christmas.
“Our next event is on 18th November at the Victoria Hall in Middlewich – so do join in and have a ‘Cracking Christmas’ with us.”
