Yorkshire Wildlife Park’s annual winter light trail is back – with thousands of lights and themed lanterns brightening up the skies just outside Doncaster.
The trail runs on selected dates up until 10th January 2026, with the walk-through experience including a vast display that takes guests on a magical adventure around the park.

There are also fairground rides, festive food and drink plus plenty of selfie spots along the way.
“We have added a whole new installation this year with a series of lantern displays in line with the theme of the wizard’s quest, which will mesmerise children and adults alike,” said park CEO John Minion.
“There is a brand new fountain projection over the lake, featuring a giant diving polar bear, and plenty of other surprises and of course the Christmas scenes to kickstart the festive season.”

The winter illumination trail is among the wildlife park’s most popular events and is now in its fifth year.
“A visit is fast becoming a Christmas tradition for many families,” Mr Minion added.
The Hive – shopping, dining and entertainment village – located at the entrance to the park offers visitors the chance to enjoy a meal out before or after a visit to see the light trail.
“The Yorkshire Hive is a great place for Christmas shopping with some unusual gifts from the independent retailers and from our own Safari Store,” Mr Minion said.

Although the illuminations do not offer a chance to see the wildlife park’s animals, many people plan a daytime visit before setting off on the trail.
Bosses say Yorkshire Wildlife Park puts conservation at the heart of all its activities, as well as offering visitors a chance to come almost face-to-face with some of the world’s most at-risk species – including Amur leopards, black rhinos, giraffes and polar bears.

People can support the park and the conservation work of the Wildlife Foundation charity by adopting one of the animals or by signing up for a park membership.
The Yorkshire Wildlife Resort also includes The Hex Wildlife Hotel as well as The Yorkshire Hive facilities.
