We’ve asked all of the candidates standing for election to Cheshire East Council to provide our readers with a short introduction to themselves.

We’ll publish these daily for all 52 council wards (in alphabetical order) in the build up to the local elections on 4th May 2023.

You can view all of the Cheshire East Council candidate submissions together by clicking here.

Listed below are all of the candidates seeking your vote in the Sandbach Ettiley Heath and Wheelock ward.

Voters in Sandbach Ettiley Heath and Wheelock can select one candidate to represent them on Cheshire East Council.

Sandbach Ettiley Heath and Wheelock candidates:

  • Laura Crane (Labour)
  • Martin Deakin (Conservatives)
  • Michelle Hough (Liberal Democrats)
  • Patricia Lloyd (Green Party)

Laura Crane (Labour)

As a hard-working mum of four, my reason for re-standing is the same as it was four years ago; to create a better local area for them.

When I first stood for election I promised to fight for the residents of Ettiley Heath and Wheelock and I have done just that – improving the way that we manage our highways maintenance, strengthening planning policies, using my life experience to improve children’s services and giving more power to local voices with our ward budget scheme.

Please give me the chance to build on this by voting for me again in May.

Martin Deakin (Conservatives)

Nothing submitted.

Michelle Hough (Liberal Democrats)

I am Sandbach born and bred.

I currently work in the public sector and have previously worked in adult care.

I am already very involved in the community and am passionate about working hard for local people.

I have worked with a uniformed youth organisation and community groups.

Patricia Lloyd (Green Party)

I’m standing as a candidate for the Green Party because I support its many policies, on environmental issues, and on broader economic and social issues.

I appreciate the calibre of our leadership and the contribution the party makes, for the better, to our national and local debates and policies.

I have a doctorate in Chemistry and 10 years in industry (UK and Europe) and so I appreciate the science behind the Green Party’s environmental policies and understand the processes of manufacturing.

Currently, I am a local vicar and am concerned to care for creation and create better opportunities for all people.
