The Tour of Britain is the UK’s biggest professional cycle race, with the 174-kilometre (108-mile) Wirral stage being held on Wednesday 11th September.
The stage will pass through Chester, Boughton and Ellesmere Port during the day.

The stage is due to start in Birkenhead park at 11am, returning at approximately 3.30pm.

Cllr Louise Gittins, leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council commented: “I’d like to welcome all of the riders as they literally fly through our borough.
“The riders can reach speeds of 38-46kmph depending on the road conditions.
“The route will give a lot of people the chance to cheer the riders as they make their way around the area. The riders are within a rolling road closure, there may be some delays on the route.”
The race is televised live on ITV4 from start to finish, and broadcast around the world.
Riders will include four-time Tour de France stage winner Dylan Groenewegen.
The 26-year-old Dutchman has ridden in the Tour of Britain twice before – winning stages on both occasions – in Builth Wells in 2016 and Cheltenham in 2017.
Fellow Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel, will also be visiting Cheshire, following his win in the opening stage of the Arctic Race of Norway last week.
The Tour of Britain race starts from George Square in Glasgow on Saturday 7th September and concludes for the first time in Greater Manchester on Saturday 14th September.
