Cheshire West and Chester Council’s highways team will begin work at The Rock in Frodsham next week to remove vegetation, carry out repairs and strengthen stair access.
The work will begin on Monday 11th February and is anticipated to take around two months to complete.
The project is a continuation of works that were started in January 2018 to repair the natural sandstone structure and the handrail above.
The council’s cabinet member for environment, Cllr Karen Shore said: “I am pleased to see this essential maintenance work taking place.
“The 50 metre working zone will have covered scaffolding for the duration of the scheme, and we will need to close a lane of traffic closest to the wall, on the south side.”
Cllr Shore added: “The road is very wide alongside the wall, so there should be no significant delays for motorists in the area.”
