Nottingham Light Night
Friday 28th February and Saturday 1st March 2025
Nottingham city centre
From 5pm until late
Nottingham is set to be illuminated after dark for a family-friendly event which allows visitors to explore the city’s iconic landmarks, streets and hidden corners.
More than 35 light-based installations, performances and activities will be popping up across Nottingham over two nights on 28th February and 1st March.

The event features a mesmerising projection on the Council House building, created by Nottingham’s Tom Dale Company and Vent Media in partnership with Nottingham Trent University and the University of Nottingham.
Nottingham Castle will also be glimmering, courtesy of a stunning visual projection created by Inspire Youth Arts, Urban Projections and producer Kirk Spencer.
Outside the castle, visitors can discover a captivating “firefly field” at the Robin Hood statue, designed by Studio Toer from The Netherlands.

A mirrored, immersive artwork – which will be arranged in a geometric maze at Sneinton Market Square – has also been created for the event, with structures that respond to the audience to create a sensory experience, triggering rippling light and sound.
Printed guides for the event are available from the tourism centre on Smithy Row, and at key locations during the event.
