Cheshire West and Chester Council and Cheshire East Council have outlined which services will be operating during the additional and holiday on Monday 19th September, the day of Her Majesty The Queen’s funeral.
Details below…
Cheshire West and Chester – bin collections brought forward
Kerbside waste and recycling collections will not take place on Monday 19th September, which has been declared a national day of mourning following the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
All kerbside waste and recycling collections scheduled for Monday will instead be brought forward to Saturday 17th September 2022.
Affected households are being asked to put their containers out by 7am on Saturday.
All other kerbside waste recycling collections will take place on their normal collection day.
The council’s recycling centres in Chester, Ellesmere Port and Winsford will stay open on Monday.
However, sites in Tattenhall, Neston, Frodsham and Northwich will close.
Bulky waste collections will also not take place on Monday.
Cllr Karen Shore, deputy leader of the council, said: “At this very sad time, on the national day of mourning, we feel it is right thing to change our waste and recycling arrangements for that one day as the nation observes the funeral of Her Majesty.”
She added: “We hope this won’t inconvenience any residents and can assure everyone that the service returns to the usual schedule for the remainder of next week.”
The council said it would be writing to affected residents and sharing information on its social media channels.
Cheshire East – bin collections as normal
