The line-up includes a secret spy school, theatre, dance workshops, catwalks, cinema, henna tatooing and arts and crafts.

The activities are taking place between Saturday 18th February and Sunday 26th February, and Storyhouse has promised to keep prices as low as possible.

Creative director Suzie Henderson said: “We’ve got a week of creative activities for families including lots of free events.

“Whether it’s a performance, a film, a workshop, a bite to eat, arts and crafts or a slot on our spy school – we’ve got you covered.”

Saturday and Sunday

The packed week of fun begins with an endearing theatre show for little ones, as Goofus Theatre present Moonsmile on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th February.

Blending music with movement, puppetry, play, and mask this nonverbal performance will immerse audiences in storytelling, creating a space for young imaginations to thrive.

Also on the Sunday 19th February, families are invited to join in with arts and crafts, henna tattooing, and Arabic calligraphy with Meet Your Muslim Neighbour.

The event is begin run by a voluntary organisation that aims to promote social cohesion, break down barriers and educate about the teachings of Islam.

Tuesday and Thursday

On Tuesday 21st and Thursday 23rd February, the Young Storyhouse team will be leading the Storyhouse Secret Spies Training Academy for children aged 6-11.

Agent Jacob and the team will help participants learn new skills, perfect existing ones, earn their Secret Spy badge and make new friends!

Friday

On Friday 24th February, children aged six and up, and their families, can learn to pose and vogue like a supermodel in the Feeling Fabulous dance workshop with dance company Ghetto Fabulous.

Afterwards families are invited to bring their glitz and glamour to the Family Catwalk Extravaganza.

In this fabulous celebration of self-expression, four professional dancers go head to head in a dance, fashion and lip sync competition – and the audience will decide the winner.

Throughout the week…

In the cinema, families can catch Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (rated PG) every day from Friday 17th to Thursday 23rd February.

Everybody’s favourite swashbuckling feline is back with a new, unmissable adventure from the Shrek universe.

The Storyhouse library team will also be hosting free arts and crafts and games all week long for families to come and get creative together including making and playing board games and a day of Lego.
