Cheshire Police are appealing for information following a serious collision in Alderley Edge last week.
At around 3.30pm on Thursday 1st April officers attended following reports of a collision involving a white Peugeot car and a wall on Davey Lane.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “The driver of the vehicle, an 84-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“Sadly, the man died a short time later. His next of kin have been informed.”
Police are now appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage to come forward.
A statement released by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service following the incident said: “Two fire engines attended, one from Wilmslow and one from Macclesfield
“At around 3.30pm firefighters were informed of a collision in Davey Lane, Alderley Edge.
“On arrival crews discovered that it involved two vehicles, one of which was on its roof.
“Firefighters got a man out of the vehicle that was on its roof before handing him over to the care of paramedics.
“An air ambulance was at the scene.
“The casualty was taken to hospital.
“Firefighters made sure that the vehicles involved in the collision were safe.
“They were in attendance for around an hour-and-a-half.”
