Mill Island and the River Weaver are set to turn yellow with the Nantwich Duck Race taking place early next month!
This new event for the town will see families gather at Mill Island as a flotilla of rubber ducks is released into the water in aid of Hope House Children’s Hospices.
The Nantwich Duck Race is taking place on bank holiday Sunday 5th May and is being organised by members of Nantwich Lions Club.
You can enter by yourself, as a family, with friends, or with your workplace.

There are two categories: first is the original race duck, at just £1 per entry for a baby duck – which can be bought on the day or from the Hope House shop on Nantwich High street.
You can buy one or 100 – it’s up to you! Your duck will be kept at ‘Duck Race HQ’ ready for the day.
The second category is the ‘Dress Up Duck Race’ with a larger duck at 15cm costing £30 each.
Buy one for your workplace, school, club or group, or just for fun!
Get creative and decorate your duck with a chance of winning the ‘Best Dressed Duck’ competition!
Once the ducks have been judged, they will be entered into the water for their own race to also compete for the fastest duck trophy!
Dress-up ducks can be purchased at www.nantwichlions.org.uk
You can bring your duck with you on the day, or if you can’t make it then simply drop it off at the Hope House shop in Nantwich before 4th May!
Registration and judging will be at midday, with the first race at 1pm.

Hope House Children’s Hospices area fundraiser Hannah Robinson says the charity is delighted that Nantwich Lions have chosen to support the charity with this event.
She commented: “Please join us at this event to help us reach more children and their families who need us.
“We need to raise in excess of £6m a year to support all the children and families we help from across Cheshire, Shropshire and also North Wales.”
She added: “I’m looking forward to the Nantwich Duck Race, we have held them previously in other areas and they are great fun!’
