This month’s regular coffee morning at Nantwich Museum (on Friday 29th June) is one of over 2,500 EqualiTeas events taking place up and down the country.
The events celebrate the 1928 Equal Franchise Act, which gave men and women over the age of 21 years the right to vote on the same basis.
The EqualiTeas event in Nantwich offers an opportunity to celebrate the ninetieth anniversary of the legislation as well as enjoying refreshments in the attractive surroundings of the museum’s galleries.
It is also a prelude to the museum’s autumn exhibition which is inspired by the centenary of the Representation of People Act of 1918.
The exhibition is entitled: “Empowerment of Women – a local perspective”.
Coffee mornings are held from 10.30 am until 12.30 pm in the Millennium Gallery on the last Friday of each month (except bank holidays) and support museum fundraising.
