Nantwich South and Stapeley candidates:
- Peter Groves (Conservatives)
- Andrew Martin (Conservatives)
- John Priest (Labour)
- Geoffrey Smith (Labour)

Peter Groves (Conservatives)
I am married and have recently retired from my business, which was based locally.
I’m a borough councillor at Cheshire East Council, representing Nantwich South and Stapeley since 2011 and a Nantwich town councillor.
In addition, I have been a Stapeley parish councillor for more than 10 years.
A past board member of all three Chambers of Commerce, I am currently mayor of Nantwich for the year 2022-2023.
I am a local school governor at Brine Leas and I am a founder member of The Nantwich Partnership and sit as a trustee of Nantwich Museum.
I remain active and interested in parish matters and I am committed to serving all Nantwich South residents.
Residents should feel confident that they can contact me and rely on my support in getting their concerns and issues addressed.

Andrew Martin (Conservatives)
I live in London Road, Stapeley, Nantwich. I’m married, with three children and am a practising solicitor.
I was elected to Nantwich Town Council in 2006 and I’m your Nantwich South and Stapeley councillor – I was elected to Cheshire East in 2008.
I was the mayor of Nantwich between 2015-2017. I am a director for Nantwich Food Festival.
For more than 10 years I was a governor at both Brine Leas and Pear Tree Schools.
I have completed five London Marathons, raising thousands of pounds for a Leukaemia charity.
I am a past president of my local law society and past area chairman of the Round Table North West and Midlands region.
My main focus is serving the residents of Nantwich and Stapeley. It’s where I live and where my interests are.
John Priest (Labour)
Nothing submitted.

Geoffrey Smith (Labour)
Nantwich is not only your home but mine also, the place where I live with my wife and chose to bring up my two children.
That is why I am so committed to improving it for the benefit of all.
I have worked every day for the past 25 years as a teacher in the town delivering better life chances for children, always listening, and doing my best to help where I can.
I led community projects for the library, St Mary’s Church and Nantwich Players, supporting and delivering inter-generational projects within the local ward.
I know from living within the ward that everyone wants to live a healthy and affordable life in a safe and supportive community.
These simple aspirations, however, seem no longer accessible to all and I believe I am the right person to put the wants and needs of Nantwich residents at the heart of council policies.
So Cheshire remains proudly non-partisan and has provided the same opportunity to all parties and independent candidates.
