Jessica Beaumont (Conservatives)

As a candidate in this election, I bring a unique set of skills and experiences – with a background in communications, the NHS and retail.

I have a deep understanding of what it takes to get things done in both the public and private sectors. I am committed to using that expertise to deliver better services for Macclesfield.

As a feminist and ally for the LGBT+ community, I founded the first feminist society at my university.

Gender equality is something I’ve been passionate about since I was 14, attending protests, fighting for women’s and LGBT+ rights.

I’ve also studied social issues at master’s level, with a focus on gender and race. I am committed to using that knowledge to inform my policies.

If elected, I will be a strong voice for Macclesfield, focusing on the numbers, with our most vulnerable at the heart of everything I do.

Liz Braithwaite (Labour)

It has been a privilege to represent the residents of Macclesfield Central ward since 2019.

The challenges of being a first-time councillor were exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, changing the way we live, work, shop, travel and socialise.

It highlighted the importance of our green spaces, especially for the many residents in the ward who don’t have gardens.

Areas including Danes Moss are cherished by the community. Macclesfield Labour has always opposed the decision of the previous Conservative administration to grant permission to develop this area.

Among the issues that matter to residents are implementing 20 mph zones in residential streets, and services that deliver value for money.

Although progress has been made, much remains to be done.

As a resident of Macclesfield Central ward I see the challenges first hand, and will use the experience gained in my first term to continue this work.

Stephen Broadhead (Liberal Democrats)

Nothing submitted.

Ashley Farrell (Labour)

I’m a Labour councillor in Cheshire East, representing the Macclesfield Central ward since my election in 2019.

I’m committed to social justice, environmental sustainability, and supporting local businesses and community groups.

As a veteran myself, I’m honoured to serve as the Armed Forces champion for Cheshire East, and I’m dedicated to supporting the needs of veterans and military families.

I’ve highlighted the poor performance of the highways contractor, which has led to the council appointing an independent quality assurance officer.

I’m standing for re-election to continue my work and improve the lives of my constituents.

John Knight (Green Party)

Nothing submitted.

Abhishika Srivastav (Conservatives)

I have lived in Macclesfield Central Ward since 2015 with my two kids and husband, we have a small takeaway business in town and my kids are in a local primary school.

After marriage in 2014, I moved to the UK and both of my kids were born in Macclesfield.

It has been amazing and the warm welcome and the real sense of community in our town, and I am thankful for the all of the support I receive locally.

But Macclesfield needs some love, and has been failed over the last four years by Labour-run Cheshire East Council.

If I am elected my focus will be on the issues that I know are important to my neighbours, such as road works, our library, improving special education services and support.

I will work to stop the green bin tax, support for our elderly and much more.
