Dawn Clark (Labour)
I was born in Crewe and have a wealth of experience working in local government over 38 years – mainly in community development, something that will be hugely beneficial if elected to serve residents.
I’m passionate about community cohesion and support many local initiatives – developing neighbourhood action groups, building community engagement.
I have served on many local groups such as Crewe Armed Forces Day, Valley Community Action and I am currently a trustee of Crewe Veterans Hub, A Statue for Ada and Cheshire Women’s Collaboration.
I am also co-lead of The Thursday Group which runs dementia cafes in Crewe and Nantwich. I’ve also served as a Crewe town councillor since November 2021.
I am currently chair at Pebblebrook Primary School and vice chair at Westminster Nursery – dedicated to rising aspirations.
As you can see I have a varied experience and am dedicated to serving residents in Crewe South.

Laura Smith (Labour)
Born in Crewe, I was a teacher before my election to Parliament in 2017 where I represented Crewe and Nantwich until December 2019.
As well as being a mother of two children, I was elected as a councillor for Crewe South in 2020, working on the Southern Planning Committee and Children and Families Scrutiny Committee.
I am also a local school governor and co-founded the Nantwich Road Action Group to fight for additional resources in the area and I am committed to delivering for residents.
As well as this I work in the trade union movement, building campaigns to help communities in the UK as well as building initiatives around delivering a more democratic economy.
So Cheshire remains proudly non-partisan and has provided the same opportunity to all parties and independent candidates.
