Martin Edwards (Labour)
Everyone who is part of a community benefits from the input of others to that community. Everyone therefore should do their bit.
I cannot think of a better way to contribute than as a councillor.
I am a determined, passionate and down to earth person; an analytical thinker, carefully thinking through things before making decisions.
Having spent 10 years as a teacher, I am thick-skinned and strong-willed. I am well travelled and have lived and worked in four foreign countries.
The experience of living abroad has taught me to be resourceful, accepting of the views of others, and compassionate.
Helen Elliott (Putting Crewe First)
Nothing submitted.

Melanie English (Green Party)
I’ve lived in Crewe for 18 years. I am self-employed, married and have four children.
As a doula, I work with brand new families in Cheshire and neighbouring counties.
The future and the state of our local environment and the world for mine and my clients’ children is a constant frame of reference to my work and personal life.
In my past, I’ve worked for the police and charities.
I bring that knowledge of how the public sector works and a commitment to bring practical sustainability, compassion, and connection (to each other and to our environment) to the table.

Hazel Faddes (Labour)
I have been a Labour councillor for Crewe East since 2019.
Having lived and worked in Crewe for many years, I am passionate about supporting the community and giving people a voice.
After retiring from social care, I began engaging with organisations to support homeless people to become independent.
As a councillor, I have fought for bus services for vulnerable people, supported local communities with resident groups, and helped families suffering from the cost of living crisis.
I’ve pushed for tree maintenance, speed assessments, and secured funding for surveys on the need for zebra crossings.
It would be an honour to continue the work to push on Crewe’s town development, fairer car parking charges, road safety measures, better pothole repairs, to support our bus services and give a voice to the issues local people face every day.

Ian Mumford (Green Party)
I grew up in Crewe and worked in Rail House computing department in the 1980s then moved to Nottingham.
A few years ago I returned to Crewe and work part time as a building surveyor.
I was in the Labour Party for a long time until the illegal invasion of Iraq, which prompted me to join the Green Party.
I am standing in the Cheshire East Council election because I think we need to seriously take the environment into consideration with planning applications and actually enforce the conditions that are agreed with developers.

Jill Rhodes (Labour)
I was first elected to Cheshire East Council in 2015.
In 2019 I was selected to be a cabinet member and I am currently the chair of the adults and health committee.
This committee decides the policy and strategy for the vulnerable adults in Cheshire East and has one of the largest budgets in the council.
I am also active in the community and I support several charities. I am proud to support Chance Changing Lives and Hopes and Beams.
I have been an active councillor in Crewe North – managing to get roads repaired, like Cliffe Road, and helping prevent inappropriate developments like phone masts.
If elected, I will put the same energy into serving the residents of Crewe East.

Gareth Woods (Green Party)
As a keen person to make a better change for our community, I share the views of the Green Party manifesto.
I personally believe in a balance between growing our community that creates a synergy with green spaces that everyone can enjoy.
I have lived in Crewe for over 10 years, I have taken part in campaigning for better broadband and also an active voice to save green spaces.
I have volunteered for the Cinnamon Trust locally in Crewe, I like to keep our streets and parks tidy and I love to find great walking routes.
So Cheshire remains proudly non-partisan and has provided the same opportunity to all parties and independent candidates.
