Chester Pubwatch has been ‘highly commended’ at the National Pubwatch Awards this week, during a ceremony held at the House of Lords.
The commendation recognises the group as being one of three leading national schemes.
The award ceremony championed the efforts of local Pubwatch schemes to provide safe drinking environments for staff and patrons in licensed premises across the UK, and Chester has been particularly recognised for its training and safeguarding work.

Chester Pubwatch was recognised at the packed ceremony – attended by MPs, Lords and notable names from the pub industry.
The award was won by Chelmsford City Pubwatch.
Speaking at the awards, chairman of the national Pubwatch scheme Steve Baker said: “Our finalists have yet again demonstrated that local Pubwatch schemes are working extremely hard to make licensed premises a safe and secure environment to work and socialise.”
