There’s not long to go now until the kids go back to school. (Why not take a look at our ‘Back to school healthcare‘ feature?)
While the youngsters might not be entirely thrilled by the prospect, it’s perfectly possible for adults to find some enjoyable ‘studies’ to take away the boredom that comes from not having the kids around…!
This mini series has three parts: part one on Tuesday, part two on Wednesday, and part three on Thursday, all before we hit September!
In part two we take a look at back to school health courtesy of Harris & Ross physiotherapists, sewing classes with Sew Creative and the hugely varied mix of different classes on offer from Wilmslow Guild.
Missed part one? Catch it here.

Back to school health – Harris & Ross (Wilmslow and Altrincham)
Now that you (hopefully) have a little more time on your hands, parents can take a look at sorting out those aches and niggles that they’ve being putting up with for so long!
Small issues can easily escalate into bigger problems, and there are a range of offers to keep you injury free in September.
Are you training for an event, or have general tightness in your muscles? You could benefit from deep tissue/sports massage. (Mention So Cheshire for 20% off with practitioner Tiffany Lunn.)
Got a new or persistent injury/pain? Call for a physio assessment appointment (Mention So Cheshire for 10% initial assessment charges with a consultant or senior level physio.)
Harris and Ross also offers acupuncture for stress/hormone imbalances and migraines. Book in for this, and get two issues sorted at the same time!
Learn to sew! – Sew Creative (Altrincham)
Sew Creative has a number of adult, teen and child classes coming up in September, along with some specialist workshops in knitting, crochet and lingerie making.
All their classes are ‘free sew’ where each individual chooses what they would like to make. The classes are also small and personal. This means that you get as much one to one support as you need.
The price of the class includes basic fabrics and use of any sewing patterns/equipment. Most people bring fabric, but this isn’t a requirement.
You won’t need to bring a machine with you as they have plenty, however some people prefer to bring their own (either is fine!)
Perfect for girly get togethers, hen parties, baby showers or just some self care time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Sew Creative also offers one-off specialist workshops.
