An iconic countryside venue in Cheshire has been given a new lease of life, with a mother and daughter team taking over the reins.
The Yellow Broom at Twemlow Green, near Holmes Chapel, has recently been taken over by Kirsty Hadfield, 54, and Hannah Vietor, 26.
The site closed in July 2025 after the retirement of long-standing owners Nathalie and Russell Burns.
“The Yellow Broom has always been a huge part of our lives,” Ms Vietor said.
“Some of my earliest memories are tied to this place — my christening was held here over 20 years ago, and we’ve celebrated countless family meals here ever since.”
She added: “Over the years, Nathalie and Russell became dear friends, so when the opportunity came to breathe new life into such a special place, we didn’t hesitate for a second.”

After 45 years as a restaurant – including 30 years under Nathalie and Russell Burns, during which it evolved into a wedding and events space – The Yellow Broom is now set to become a destination wedding location with on-site accommodation.
Its new owners described it as “the perfect next step” for the venue, situated in idyllic surroundings between Holmes Chapel and Goostrey.
“We are so excited to get started,” Ms Vietor added.
“Our vision is to create something truly memorable while respecting everything that makes The Yellow Broom so special.”
The pair bring a combined 15 years of experience in the wedding and events industry, and say they plan to renovate The Yellow Broom to the highest standards.
“We expect renovations to be completed by September this year and hope to begin accepting wedding bookings for 2027,” Ms Hadfield said.
“We’re already in the final stages of discussions with catering and beverage partners, meaning we’ll be able to offer a complete, seamless wedding or private event experience.
“We also have a fantastic list of recommended suppliers who we’ve worked with over the years and are always a pleasure to collaborate with.”
