The Royal Cheshire County Show is back this month, with a jam-packed summertime show to celebrate the very best of rural Cheshire.
The Royal Cheshire County Show, held annually at Clay House Farm in Knutsford, is a family-friendly event organised by The Cheshire Agricultural Society.
It celebrates the agricultural heritage ingrained within the local community, and promises ticket holders a great day out in the Cheshire countryside, with an amazing line-up of exhibitions, demonstrations and new, exhilarating performances.
The show plays host to hundreds of livestock classes – including cattle, sheep, goats and pigs – as they all compete for the many coveted trophies available.
The Agri-Centre is also a must-see experience for those who wish to learn how food is produced.
Visitors can watch local farmers feeding calves, holding milking and sheep shearing demonstrations, along with many other presentations including veterinary care, butchery, ice cream making, and bread making.
This year’s Roberts Bakery Live Theatre welcomes celebrity chefs including Rosemary Shrager, Luis Troyano and Sean Wilson, who will be hosting culinary demonstrations.
Ticket holders will also be able to sample Cheshire’s finest locally-sourced produce inside the Roberts Bakery Hall, which hosts local, regional and national producers and purveyors of fine food under two huge marquees.
The Roberts Bakery Band will also be making their Cheshire Show debut, performing around the showground on Tuesday 18th June.
This year the main ring will host an action-packed performance by Big Pete and the Grim Reaper monster trucks, where the 7.5 tonne trucks will wow crowds by jumping up to 15 feet in the air, and crushing everything in their path when they land!
Also taking centre stage in the main ring will be the International Dzhigitovka Show, an unparalleled performance of horsemanship and daring skill showcased by the Cossack Trick Riders, national squad Dzhigitovka competitors and world championship performers.
Show director of the Cheshire Agricultural Society CIO, Rob Davenport comments: “The Cheshire Show is the county’s largest agricultural event, held to pioneer Cheshire’s farming heritage, culinary talent and fantastic produce.
“We are proud to organise such an extravagant event for the public to enjoy each year, and this year’s show promises exciting new attractions to suit an audience of all ages, including lots of thrilling performances and celebrity guests!”
