Storyhouse in Chester will be opening its doors to the public this coming Monday (19th September) from 9.30am until 7pm.
The library, theatre and cinema venue will be screening the day’s events – including the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the big screen in its public space on the ground floor, known as The Kitchen.
Staff will also be handing out free tea and coffee throughout.
Chief executive Alex Bentley said: “We understand the nature of this historic national event and recognise our role as a major public building at times like these.
”We’d particularly encourage anyone alone in the city at this time, or those who feel that they would like to share their personal experience of the day with others, to join us.”

Storyhouse bosses say they will be pausing all of the venue’s other events on Monday, but its main public spaces will be open.
That means access to the library, other public spaces and computers will be as normal – although services on offer may be reduced.
