Chester Folk Festival presents The Autumn Trilogy 2026

Shares

14 November 2026 – All Saints Church, Hoole – 8pm (doors open 7.30pm)

As the leaves begin to fall from the trees and the evenings draw in, Chester Folk Festival’s Autumn Trilogy offers a heartwarming evening of musical delight.

The concert showcases three talented musicians who promise an eclectic mix of the modern and traditional, and the surrounds of All Saints Church in Hoole provide a setting in which to sit back and be entertained.

This year’s trilogy of acts all have local connections…

Chris Tavener grew up in Northwich. His punchy guitar-driven rock and acoustic ballads combine a biting sense of humour with hilarious cynical social commentary to create a truly memorable performance. He has made numerous festival, tv and radio appearances.  Mark Radcliffe (BBC Radio 2) describes him as “idiosyncratic but ever so loveable”.

Lily Rae Grant wowed audiences at this year’s Chester Folk Festival. The 18-year-old singer songwriter is based between Manchester and Todmorden. Her songs blend soulful folk and country with atmospheric indie. Organisers say her rich voice and guitar playing will have audiences spellbound.

Owen Chamberlain is a singer songwriter based in North Wales, and an accomplished guitarist and pianist. His unique instrumental style and evocative lyrics intertwine to paint compelling narrative songs which are often dark and surreal.

Tickets for the concert cost £15 and are available on the door or online: www.chesterfolk.org.uk

Doors open at 7.30pm, and there will be a bar at the venue.

Young Folk Sunday Sessions

This Autumn also sees the return of the Young Folk Sunday Sessions

These free monthly sessions are aimed at aspiring young musicians aged 10-18.

Experienced teachers support the youngsters to develop their musicianship through learning to play and sing folk music by ear and to create a fun folk ensemble.

The sessions run from 8 November through to 9 May and culminate in a chance for the group to perform at Chester Folk Festival in Kelsall on 31 May 2027.

The sessions are held in Chester – just bring an instrument and voice, all abilities welcome.
