Her Majesty The Queen has died at the age of 96.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said: “The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
“The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”
Earlier today, Buckingham Palace said Her Majesty’s doctors were concerned for her health and recommended that she remain under medical supervision.
