Halloween horrors are coming to Crewe Lyceum later this month, as the theatre hosts a series of spooky themed activities for children and grown-ups.
“Halloween is a firm favourite at the Lyceum, so we’re pleased to host a ‘hauntingly happening’ day of activities and shows for all ages,” explained marketing manager Allison Sundaram.
“With free crafts, a costume competition, film screenings and even a ghost hunt, it’s a day of treats for the entire family!”
Craft fair and fancy dress
Activities kick-off at midday, with the theatre’s Circle Suite opening up for a community crafts fair until 3pm. The cafe will also be open from midday until 3pm.
The theatre will also be hosting a costume competition – any child arriving in costume to the craft fair can enter to win a family ticket to the world premiere production of the primary school favourite Tom Gates: Live.
Goosebumps
At 3pm the theatre will see its first film screaming (sorry, we meant screening!) with Goosebumps (cert PG).
In this big-screen adaptation of the popular kids’ books, a teenager teams up with the daughter of a famous horror author after the writer’s imaginary demons are accidentally set free.
Tickets are £5, including popcorn, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
Scream
After dark, at 7pm, teen horror classic Scream (cert 15) will be freaking out audiences in the auditorium.
After a series of mysterious deaths befalls a small town, an off-beat group of friends become the target of a masked killer.
The teens must learn the ‘rules’ of the horror movie format in order to survive!
Tickets are £7.50, including popcorn.
Ghost hunt
A chill fills the air – but it’s all treats for scare-seekers with the Crewe Lyceum Ghost Hunt, taking place at 9pm.
Dare to explore one of the most haunted buildings in Cheshire – and find out for yourself what lurks within the historic Edwardian theatre after dark.
Tickets for the paranormal investigation are available from £27.50.
