Middlewich Cricket Club’s highly anticipated inaugural summer fundraiser, ‘Fiesta on the Field’ has been described as a stunning success with around a thousand people of all ages enjoying the two day event.
Funds were raised for the club, and organisers say it was such a success that it will be back on the calendar again next year!
Crowds were treated to a fun-filled family weekend with local bands, Good for Gordon, Never Trust A Folkie, The Mallisons and AD Cooke on Saturday.
There was also a showing of The Greatest Showman and the World Cup Final on a huge 12 sq metre screen on Sunday.
The accompanying beer festival showcased a wide selection of ales and ciders, topped off with a prosecco and gin bar, plus a wide choice of food from local vendors.
With face painting, inflatables, trampolines, arts and crafts, Fiesta on the Field proved to be an event that was enjoyed by adults and children alike.
Dave Parry, chairman of Middlewich Cricket Club, commented: “We are completely overwhelmed by how our fundraising event, Fiesta on the Field, was received!
“It was such a fun-filled weekend enjoyed by all ages and helped us raise much needed funds for the club, which will go towards junior cricket and upkeep of the ground and clubhouse, and we are extremely grateful.
“We would also like to thank the fantastic array of sponsors and vendors without whom the event could not have been so successful.
“We couldn’t have done it without the volunteers either – they worked so hard to plan to run the event.”
