FUE Hair Transplants
Another approach is to undergo follicular unit extraction (FUE). This is where just a few hair follicles are removed using a tool to extract them that’s only 1mm or smaller in diameter. These are then grafted into the affected area. The surgery is only minimally invasive which is good news for people who are scared of operating theatres.
Choosing how many follicles to get removed depends on how large the affected area is and the estimated number of follicles necessary to bring a natural look back. While a procedure involving a few hundred hair follicles might take a few hours, something larger would require at least a couple of days. However, the recovery time is much improved over previous techniques in the past which were far more invasive and often resulted in significant and noticeable scarring.
