An exhibition of railway posters, commissioned by the Mid-Cheshire Community Rail Partnership, to evoke the ‘Golden Age of British Travel’ has gone on display in Knutsford.
Marvellous Days Out features the designs of Nick Thompson from Chester-based Lemondrop Creative and opened at the end of January.
Thanks to Sally Buttifant, from the partnership, Knutsford Heritage Centre is now able to host the exhibition, offering visitors the opportunity of seeing the collection for themselves.
Knutsford Heritage Centre visitors can view the iconic art-deco style railway posters, connecting towns and villages along the Manchester to Chester railway line, which includes Knutsford.
The posters are themed around ‘having a marvellous day out’, encouraging people to use the Mid-Cheshire railway line and enjoy the many attractions along its route.
Visitors will also be able to buy souvenirs from the heritage centre gift shop, including replicas of the iconic posters.
The range of items available includes: prints, postcards and a specially commissioned coffee mug featuring the Knutsford poster and the stops along the railway line.
The exhibition runs until 7th April.
