Shares

Following the recent success of a gold medal at the RHS Britain in Bloom ceremony in Southport the Alderley Edge in Bloom group of volunteers has received more good news.

The Alderley Edge Institute Trust has awarded Alderley Edge In Bloom with funding for the purchase of 32 lamppost baskets on London Road and eight troughs to add to the eight already situated on the Waitrose car park railings on London Road.

The Institute Trust also provided funding for more litter-picking equipment which enables the group to continue its weekly activity, keeping the village tidy.

Leslie Cox, chair of Alderley Edge In Bloom, said: “The volunteers are overjoyed at yet more good news. We are extremely grateful to the trust for their generosity and support for our work.

“The funding will guarantee even better floral displays next year.”

The funding is seen as welcome recognition of the group’s commitment to enhancing the village environment for the benefit of residents, businesses and visitors.
