Giantswood Lane in Congleton is set to close for around six weeks to allow vital work on the Congleton link road to progress.
The closure – which is in place to enable completion of concrete works, essential utility diversions and resurfacing – will begin from 21st February.
A signed diversion route for cyclists and pedestrians, alongside a route for motorists will be in place throughout the closure.
Cllr Craig Browne, deputy leader of Cheshire East Council, said: “This is a key element to the construction of Congleton’s new link road, with the roundabouts ensuring that the link road is connected in the area.”
Cllr Browne added: “I would like to thank all those affected by the inconvenience of this closure for your patience while we deliver this ambitious £90m infrastructure programme.”
It’s anticipated the road will reopen to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians from Easter 2020.
