Free parking on Saturdays in Stoke-on-Trent’s six towns

Shares

All six towns in Stoke-on-Trent are set to benefit from a free car parking day this month, in a bid to help give a boost to the city’s retailers at Christmas.

The offer is only available at specific car parks on specific days – more details below.

Stoke-on-Trent City Council has organised the free parking at its surface-level (ie: not multi-storey) car parks in Burslem, Fenton, Hanley, Longton, Tunstall, Stoke and also Meir.

On-street parking will continue to be charged as usual.

Saturday 14th December

Visitors to Burslem, Fenton, Longton, Tunstall, Stoke and Meir will benefit from free parking (midnight to midnight) at the following council-run car parks:

  • Burslem – Chapel Lane, Market Place and St John Square
  • Tunstall – Butterfield Place, Tower Square, Farndale Street, Hunt Street and Woodland Street
  • Fenton – City Road (accessed from Baker Street)
  • Stoke – Aquinas Street, Hide Street, Kingsway, South Wolfe Street, Spark Street and Vale Street
  • Longton – Longton Exchange, Chancery Lane and Commerce Street
  • Meir – Weston Road

Saturday 21st December

Visitors to Hanley will be able to park for free all day (midnight to midnight) at the following council-run car parks:

  • Hanley – Charles Street, Hinde Street, Hope Street, Meigh Street, Pall Mall, Huntbach Street and Lichfield Street

Cllr Amjid Wazir, cabinet member for enforcement, urged people to take the opportunity to support their local high street this Christmas.

“Plenty of festive events are happening in town centres, and it is a time when people come together to meet up,” he said.

More information on parking locations is available on the council website.
