There are continuing signs that the independent retail scene in Northwich is thriving, with yet another business choosing to begin trading in the town.
Crate Gentleman’s Hairdressing, located at 2-4 Crown Street, opened its doors following research which pointed to the positive business environment in Northwich and regeneration work taking place.
Owner Charles Rose explained: “We’ve always loved Cheshire and looked in several towns in the area but we loved the feel of Northwich instantly.
“There is so much happening in the town at the moment and it is really exciting for Crate to be part of it.”
He added: “We think it’s a great time to be opening a new business in the town with all of the expansion plans; the regeneration is exciting!”

Charles brings with him a wealth of experience – having managed a flagship salon in London, competed in industry competitions and attended industry events.
He hopes to bring an inclusive and relaxing vibe to Northwich’s hairdressing scene.
“Having only just opened this July, my aim is to really become part of the Northwich community,” said Charles.
“The fact that we have a lounge bar too helps us create a friendly, welcoming atmosphere for all to enjoy whether people are having a hair service with us or not.”

Naturally, working in Northwich is somewhat different to the fast pace of life in London, however Charles has thanked people in the town for helping Crate to settle in quickly.
“The transition has been great, especially as the people of Northwich have been so supportive and friendly. We have been overwhelmed by their kindness and can’t thank you all enough.”
