Iconic Canadian restaurant brand Tim Hortons has announced the arrival of its first drive-thru restaurant in the south of England.
The firm has chosen Milton Keynes as the location for its new venue, and follows hot on the heels of American chain Taco Bell which opened its doors a few weeks ago.
Tim Hortons – a brand famed for its signature coffee, delicious donuts and Canadian charm – will be opening its doors in December.
Located on the Kingston Centre Retail Park, a spokesperson told us customers can expect Canada’s favourite coffee, freshly baked donuts and Timbits, as well as delicious breakfast, lunch and evening meal options – including hot sandwiches and wraps.
The opening is set to create 40+ jobs for the local community, via a combination of full-time and part-time opportunities.
Kevin Hydes, COO of the Tim Hortons franchise in the UK, commented: “We are delighted to bring positive news this year to Milton Keynes and are thrilled to have secured a fantastic location for our most southernly restaurant in England, and closest to London for fans based in the region.
“With our previous openings causing overnight queues and fans travelling from up and down the country, we expect this to be a huge occasion for us.
“We look forward to engaging with the Milton Keynes community and know this is the start of exciting times to come.”
The company opened its first UK outlet in June 2017, on Argyle Street in Glasgow.
There are currently 23 restaurants across the UK, with a flagship location in Leicester city centre.
