MP takes opportunity to ‘Meet the Chamber’

Shares

Having recently completed a successful name change and rebranding to become North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise, a special ‘Meet the Chamber’ networking morning was held in Wilmslow recently with Tatton MP Esther McVey joining as guest speaker.

Esther talked about her views on the world of work as it evolves, and the challenges of running a government department with a turnover the same size as the 37th biggest nation in the world.

Ms Mcvey talked about the need for the benefit system to be able to support people both in and out of work. She then answered members questions on local, national and international issues.

North Cheshire Chamber of Commerce is one of the largest independent networking membership organisations in Cheshire, providing business services and opportunities for members to promote and grow their businesses.

The chamber currently has over 300 members who reflect the diverse and thriving nature of the local economy in Macclesfield, Knutsford, Wilmslow and the areas in-between.

Chief executive Sue Bowden commented: “Becoming North Cheshire Chamber will remove any misconception that the chamber only covers Macclesfield, with the name now truly reflecting the geographic area we support.

“We hope the name change will encourage businesses across north Cheshire to join us and join in!”

Esther added: “I was pleased to be at the inaugural ‘Meet the Chamber’ event of the rebranded chamber.

“It is always interesting to meet business owners, who I see as key to the success of Cheshire as a whole, and the event had a wide range of business interests reflected in the attendees.”
