Former Pecks restaurant site in Congleton up for sale or to lease

Shares

A hospitality firm has put one of its former venues on the market with a guide price of £700,000 for the freehold property or for £55,000 per year to lease.

The building on Newcastle Road, Brownlow Heath, was previously home to Pecks until the business moved to Congleton town centre in February this year.

Bosses at Pear Hospitality, which runs Pecks, had teased plans for an “unapologetically American” venue at the site, but further details failed to materialise.

They have now decided to put the former restaurant on the market – to find either a new owner or a tenant who could take it on, with “flexible, free-of-tie terms” being offered.

Situated about two miles south west of Congleton town centre, the two-storey detached property has a highly visible position at the side of the A34.

It comprises 4,219 sq ft and has capacity for about 90 to 100 covers on the ground floor, with potential for 25 to 30 additional covers on the first floor, according to property agent Fleurets.

It also features a terrace to the front and a surfaced car park to the rear, with space for about 28 vehicles.

Subject to planning permission, the venue may also be suitable for another use, the property agent added.

“With its roadside prominence, generous layout and on-site parking, it could readily be revived as a destination restaurant,” said Tim Martin, a director at Fleurets.

“Equally, its scale and location mean it may lend itself well to a variety of alternative uses, subject to the necessary consents.”

Viewings are available strictly by appointment only.
