A campsite in the Peak District has been named as the most dog-friendly camping and caravan site in the UK.
Longnor Wood Holiday Park, in the Staffordshire Moorlands close to the border with High Peak in Derbyshire, won the accolade which was voted for by the public as part of the annual Dog Friendly Awards scheme.
The site was recognised jointly with two other locations owned by its parent company – Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site, near Edinburgh, and Herding Hill Farm in Northumberland.
Sam Kitchen, who manages the Longnor Wood park along with her husband, Ian, said she was delighted at the news.
“The fact that this award is voted for by the public and shared jointly across WCF’s three sites makes it even more special,” she said.

“Our aim is to provide all our guests with a five-star experience, including dogs.
“We take pride in going the extra mile by offering dog-friendly facilities such as a hot water dog wash area for muddy pups and a dedicated dog-walking area on site.”
As well as offering pet-friendly accommodation, up to two dogs can stay with their owners on all of the site’s tent and touring pitches.
“It’s really important to us that people feel comfortable and relaxed bringing their pets on holiday with them so they can join in the fun too,” Ms Kitchen added.

Longnor Wood was also recently named best adult-only site in the East Midlands at the Camping and Glamping Awards for the third consecutive year, and was runner-up for the national award.
It’s home to ensuite glamping pods, luxury lodges and caravan holiday homes with outdoor tubs, as well as all-weather pitches for camping and touring caravans.
The site is surrounded by woodland and within easy reach of Buxton and Leek as well as Peak District walking and cycling trails.
