Harborough Leisure Centre gym refurb anniversary fundraiser

Shares

Leisure centre staff are encouraging people to get active this Saturday (29th November) while raising money for a cancer charity.

It marks the one-year anniversary of the refurbished gym at Harborough Leisure Centre.

Activites being organised on the day include free gym sessions, fitness classes and pool sessions as well as face painting and a brass band.

While all activities are free of charge, bosses at Everyone Active are asking for donations to Breast Cancer Now to fund research and support people affected by breast cancer.

The centre includes a 115-station gym, group fitness studio, group cycling studio, wellness studio, three swimming pools, a sports hall, indoor bowls hall, tennis courts and a cafe.

“We are keen to show people the fantastic centre on their doorstep and raising money for Breast Cancer Now is the perfect way to top off the event,” said general manager Lewis Humphreys.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming the local community.”

Pool and group exercise sessions are bookable via the leisure centre’s app and at the site, with customers urged to pre-book to avoid disappointment.

The leisure centre was also the venue for a charity bowls match held by Harborough & District Indoor Bowls Club earlier this month.

About 50 participants took part in a ladies versus men clash, which was narrowly won by the men.

Donations from the event and tombola totalled more than £600 for Breast Cancer Now.
