What’s on at Lyme Park – autumn half term 2022

Shares

Families can embrace the spooky season with Halloween and autumn activities at Lyme Park this October.

The National Trust site’s 1,400-acre estate has plenty of room for full-day family adventures.

Follow the pumpkins and go on a ghost hunt in the garden. Discover 600 years of ghost stories at Lyme, catch a ghost and play ghastly games.

Families

Families can pick up a trail pack in the ticket office, priced at £2 each.

Or, become a nature explorer and uncover fiendish facts about what lurks in the deepest depths of the woodland on a nature walk.

Little ones will love exploring weird and wonderful facts about nature and wildlife on a nature trail around Crow Wood before letting off steam in newly-refurbished Crow Wood Playscape.

Alternatively, escape the rain and head inside to imagine what life was like for a child living at Lyme Hall in its heyday.

Adventurous explorers can pick up a “50 things to do before you’re 11 ¾” activity leaflet, and tick off activities as they go.

Autumn

Autumn is a time of wonder when the natural world turns into a kaleidoscope of colour.

Families feeling adventurous can explore vibrant woodlands for wonderful views of Manchester, the Peak District and red deer.

Look out for stags bellowing and locking horns to test each other’s strength as they compete for the attention of the hinds during the mating season.
